The
Poiema Project was originally a five-year, campus wide initiative funded through
a grant by the Lilly Endowment, Inc. for the theological exploration of
vocation. With additional funding provided by Lilly, the project has been
extended with a Sustaining Grant for 2008-2010. “Poiema” is the New Testament
Greek work translated as “Workmanship” in Ephesians 2:10. In choosing this name,
we focus on the fact that we are God’s work of art, emphasizing that he leaves
his image in us uniquely through out individual creation and through his work in
us.
