Keynote Speaker: Dr. Stephen Shore

Dr. Stephen Shore
is an author and an advocate for persons with Autism. He was diagnosed with
“atypical development with strong autistic tendencies” and was recommended for
institutionalization. Dr. Shore earned his Doctorate degree from Boston
University in Special Education and focuses on helping others with Autism
develop their abilities.
Dr. Shore has
written several books covering topics such as education issues, relationships,
employment, advocacy, and disclosure. The books he as written are: Beyond
the Wall: Personal Experiences with Autism and Asperger Syndrome, Ask and Tell:
Self-advocacy and Disclosure for People on the Autism Spectrum, and the
critically acclaimed Understanding Autism for Dummies.
He is President
Emeritus of the Asperger’s Association of New England, and serves on the
Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee for the Board of Directors for Autism
Society of America, Unlocking Autism, MAAP, the College Internship Program, and
USAAA.

FROM Chattanooga—(Interstate 75)
Take Cleveland exit 25 and turn left at the end of the ramp. Continue on 25th
Street and turn right onto Ocoee Street at the 5th traffic light. As you
approach the campus, turn left on 15th Street. At the next intersection you will
see the Education Building ahead to the right. Parking is behind the building.
FROM Knoxville—(Interstate 75)
