Lee University Counseling Center
The Counseling Center provides holistic services to students in order to promote psychological, emotional, relational and spiritual health during the transitions faced in college life. While dedicated to short-term treatment and care, we endeavor to support students in lifestyle changes and choices that will help them benefit the most from their college experience.

What to Expect from the Counseling Center
Lee University students (those currently enrolled in courses), are eligible to receive counseling services at no cost. The initial intake with a counselor will be to discuss your concerns, assess needs and identify how to best assist you. Staff and faculty may also receive referral and consultation services at no cost.

The Counseling Center delivers a broad range of mental health services to the university community which may include the following:

  • Individual and couples counseling
  • Pre-marriage Counseling
  • Group therapy
  • Psycho-educational workshops
  • Referral to other specialists
  • Referral to contract psychiatrist
  • Faculty/Staff consultation
  • Outreach

                      

 

The Counseling Center reserves the right to refer any one who we believe will be better served by an outside provider. Counseling Center staff members are committed to helping you get the most out of your college experience by offering individual counseling in which you can explore in a confidential setting concerns including but not limited to:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Traumatic Experiences
  • Sexual Issues
  • Grief and Loss
  • Relationship Difficulties
  • Stress
  • Time Management
  • Adjustment Disorders
  • Homesickness
  • Academic Challenges
     

Our staff members work from a short-term orientation, emphasizing client strengths and healthy coping skills.

Other services include various psycho-educational workshops and mental health awareness seminars administered in group settings in cooperation with a variety of campus entities. These are designed to enhance your knowledge in key areas of mental and emotional health and to teach more effective strategies for coping with problems.
